Final Blog Post
So this is my final blog post, and I can honestly say I am glad. It was nice to see what everyone else was going through, and saying. We all dealt with the same things during our projects, and our classes so it was nice to see that someone else felt the same way I did. I don't think I will be using this blog much, but I will however be using the blog on naspe, and the forums. I feel as though they really helped out with physical education awareness, and lessons. This will help me inthe future in a school where maybe I don't have alot of other physical education people around to comfort me. So farewell bloggers, and have a good night!

Digital Video
I just finished my digital video, and I am actually glad that I did one. It was an easy thing to do, and I will have it for future references on my efolio and also maybe in the classroom. It was a good thing to do also so in the future I can just do a video like it's nothing to teach in my class. I feel as though if I ever had to miss a class one day, I would have a sub teacher play this like I was there. Its a pretty neat concept all around!

Attendance Policies
I am kind of upset about the attendance policies because I might not be able to go to championships for tennis because of them. It is ridicilous that blue cards don't matter to some classes, and also that you only get a certain amount. No matter how hard you work for a class, the attendance policy or parcipation policy always seems to get you somehow. I really hope my professor understands that this is important, and that I also will be at every class after this. It's hard to do when the teacher is not even coming to some classes. For example, my teacher is not coming to class tomorrow, so I want him not to come next friday! That'd be great, and it would make my life a lot easier! We are just giving speeches anyways, so maybe ill get off the hook. Wish me luck!

E-Folio is done!
I dont know about everyone else, but I am really glad to have it over with. I was so stressed out about it, but it feels good to have it finally done! I worked hard on it, and it was nice to just sit back and relax today! I also was very productive tonight. I watched biggest loser, and big brother. On biggest loser, a new record was set. A girl finally won the show! It was great because it was the first time in the history of the show for that to occur. It is understandable though because many girls don't lose weight as fast as guys do. Then I actually did my laundry, and cleaned up my room a ton. Now i am just relaxing watching nick and nite, and it feels good to be successful in finishing tasks i set out to do. Have a good night

Tennis match
Today we lost our tennis match. It was a huge fight, but in the end we lost. I did my best and I actually got 6 games against a foreign girl. its crazy how someone can play when they are from a different country, and also get my scholarship money for people who actually do live in the us. It's unfair, and i truely consider our tennis team the number one in the region because we play fair, and have a fair team. Of course foreign people are good at everything they do so why not do that in your own nation?

Low Ropes Course
So yesterday I did the low ropes course yet again. It was alot of fun, and I am extremely glad I did it! We had to get everyone through a tire, and without touching it. That was alot of fun, and everyone had to work together to get it accomplished. Then we had to try to climb up a huge wall without any climbing grips what so ever. So basically you had to be cheerleader lifted up and then pulled up by a fellow classmate. It was risky, but tons of fun. I was way too scared for that but in the end I did it. I felt very accomplished that day!

Low Ropes Course
Yesterday in my Outdoor Pursuits class we went outside onto the low ropes course. Now when I heard and saw what we were going to do, I kind of freaked out. I didn't know if I could put my trust forward onto my partner in order to get across the rope. In the end, I ended up doing it and actually wanting to try again. The communication between everyone was great, and also it was very helpful. People were very encouraging, and I felt good about it in the end. I am glad I got over my trust issue and went through with the activity. I guess I trust people with my secrets but with my safety its a little different.

Drill Bit Taylor
So last night after my backpacking trip, I went to visit my boyfriend in Clarion. Now we decided to go on a little date, and went to a movie and dinner. Well let me tell you that I have a new favorite movie to add to my list, DrillBit Taylor. It is a very funny movie, and more so then I expected. Check it out! Now today I played Sonic the hedgehog on Sega Genesis, and let me tell you it was amazing! I really enjoyed Sonic growing up, and I enjoyed it alot now. It is amazing to see the difference in graphics from today's technology, but it's just such a classic that a little difference doesn't even matter. Does anyone know the level after labyrinth? I need to know! I couldn't get past the water in level three and I am curious as to whats after that!

Backpacking trip part 2
So i just got back from my backpacking trip or so you can call it. Apparently we couldn't get the vans in order to go to the trail we were supposed to be going to so Jeff Smith decided to stay on the slippery rock campus and go through the woods here, and then go on the ropes course. This was alot of fun! We set up our tents, and then we also ate from stoves that we brought with us. I enjoyed this much more because of my sickness, and also we didn't have to spend the night outdoors. I was kind of sad though because backpacking would have been fun, and I spent alot of money on supplies for the trip but this day was fun. I overcame my fear, and climbed up on the ropes course, and I also zip lined which i never thought I'd do!I was glad we got the chance to do all of this because it was well worth it. We still practiced out trust building, and we all bonded very well. I learned alot about the people in my class, and everyones pretty sweet!

Backpacking trip
So now the time has come for the weekend of the backpacking trip, and I can honestly say I am not prepared for it at all. I am currently really sick, and I can barely talk, and I am about to go freeze my butt off in the snow, rain, and whatever comes our way this weekend. Now normally I wouldn't be complaining but the fact that I am sick just makes me miserable to think about this weekend. I hope this advil pays off by the time we leave on saturday morning because I don't need to talk this cold with me on the trip. I need to be in tip top shape for this trip, or else I'll be paying for it next week!

Webpages
So I am sitting in class, and I just recieved my grade for my webpage. Overall I am very happy with what happened with my grades because I worked very hard to achieve the grade I got. The webpage making process was not as hard as I thought but it was just very time consuming. Also in the future I think I might attempt to make a webpage, but this time without a rubric! So recently, or the past week, I have been stressed out about school, but I know in the end it will all pay off. The tests, quizzes, homework, and projects will get me to where I need to be to be a successful PE teacher. Have a great day everyone!

Back From Spring Break
So I am back from spring break, and I am really not excited! I had so much work to do already and its only sunday night! Now tomorrow I will have loads of stuff to do, and I have to work on top of that! And teach a lesson in strike and field! I guess its the rough life of a pe major, but I am not complaining yet because I know things will get alot harder in 352! But on a better note, spring break was amazing, and I hope everyone else's was too! I enjoyed every moment of it, and wish i could be back at the beach right now! Bad weather Ew! Have a great night

Spring Break!
So right now I am relaxing on my sweet bed in Hilton Head Island, and its amazing down here. Apparently back home the weather is snowy and stormy but down here its beautiful not as hot as I would like but Ill deal with 60's and sunny! I hope everyones break is going well and everyones being safe. The tennis team won our first match on thursday, and we are on our way to 5 more so wish us luck! Also a bit of technology thrown in there, there are so many HD-TV's in this house and all different sizes. Its amazing how many people own these tvs and also how many people know what they are. The new technology travels fast! Have a great day!

Spring Break!
So i just finished class and I am so excited to go on spring break! The tennis team is going down to Hilton Head Island and going to play some matches down there! It's going to be a great time, and it's basically all expenses paid. So we get to do two things I love which is tennis and hang out on the beach! So I am looking forward to this but I am not looking forward to a 12hr drive there and back and also not seeing my boyfriend for like 3 weeks but hopefully the fun I will be having overlaps that. Also in a few weeks I will be going on the outdoor pursuits trip to go backpacking and I am kind of nervous about that because it sounds like alot of work but I know I can handle it! Well I hope everyone has a safe and fun spring break! I know I will!

Palm Pilots
So today in tech pete, we got introduced to all these different types of palm pilots, and all of these keyboards that go with the palm pilots. I didnt even realize that keyboards could go with palm pilots so this techonology was all new to me and very interesting actually. I think in the future I might invest in a palm pilot, but I am not sure because I have a laptop and a desktop, and a sweet blackjack II phone so why a palm pilot? I mean all of these functions are on the things i already have invested in so why invest more money in a palm pilot? Plus I am sure that keyboard doesnt come free with the palm pilot, however maybe with a grant in the future it would be sweet to get a palm pilot and have fun with that.

Reality tv
So I am addicted to some reality tv shows. I love rock of love 2, big brother, biggest loser, and basically everything else. I love biggest loser though because it gives me good dieting tips, and helps me think about how to exercise. This show is actually a good show to have on tv for young children to watch because it shows how dedication pays off but also it could be bad because they lose the weight so quickly. The other reality shows are pretty bad though for children so its not wise to let young children watch these type of dating shows, etc. Although it may be addicting for young adults, and even old ones, in the future ill never let my children watch this type of thing. So in my classroom, I may incorporate some stuff from biggest loser into it so kids realize just how important weight watching, and exercise is.

Speeding tickets
So apparently there's an email going around saying that the cops are out for everyone in the month of feb. Apparently if you are even going 5 over the speed limit, they will stop you and fine you. Now according to this email, the cops are supposed to be stopping someone every 10-20 minutes which is ridicilous, oh and heres the good part. if you dont have your license or registration or any of that stuff they ask for.. the price is going from like 170 to 500! I dont know about you but I will defiently have my stuff on hand just in case. It just amazes me how alot of people have heard about this, and its all because of the great technology of email.

Charlie Barlett
Tonight I watched Charlie Barlett with my boyfriend, and I honestly have to say I was a bit disappointed. This movie was displayed to be funny, but in reality it wasn't all that funny. It actually was a good movie though, just kind of serious and interesting not a comedy. So if you are in the state of mind to watch this movie, just remember its not as funny as it looks. This movie also is set in the 80's i believe and it was amazing to see the technology or lack of technology then. They had survellience cameras being installed and everyone was in a huge rage. Nowadays these cameras are just another day thing kind of like the sun or the moon. So it was interesting to see their outrage about being watched while doing things. I also watched big brother tonight, and they are constantly being watched. I really don't know how they handle that, but for 500,000 dollars I am sure I could too!

Away messages
It amazes me how people put every little thing in their away message, actually I am guilty of doing this. But it is interesting as to how many people read other's away messages. I always read my friends away messages but not in depth like some other people may. For example, my friend the other day when asked where katie was said oh shes with her boyfriend at ginger hill and I said oh did you talk to her? and she said no I read her away message. This is just amazing how one piece of information logged on the internet like that can be used in every day conversations.

Pens Game
So this weekend, I went to a penguins game with my friends. While I was there, I noticed on the scoreboard that they had this text messaging thing you could do. You can send a message to a number, and they post it immediately on the scoreboard in the middle of the ice. This was during a break, so me and my friends decided to see how long it would take to get up on the board. It immediately went up there! I just cant believe that a simple message could of gotten recieved that fast that it processed it and put it on the board. I was very impressed by this piece of technology.

Text Messaging
So I just got back from Tech PETE and I decided that I needed to blog about this article I just read. It said that a mayor in Michigan got caught having an affair with one of his staff after his text messages were revealed to be scandelous and he lied under oath about it. Now I don't know about you, but I don't like that people can find that much information about what is being said and sent. That stuff is sometimes private, and between you and the reciever. How in the world did technology get to the point where you can read every text message sent through this cell phone network? The fact that the cell phone company has the details to that much information amazes me. I am kind of indifferent on this subject because I think that the fact that it can reveal so much might help out in murder cases, scandals, etc and that would be great to catch the people who do that kind of thing. However, I do think it's an invasion of privacy and I don't want some random cell phone operator reading my texts. Anyone have any opinions on the subject?

Outdoor Pursuits
So this post is a bit late but the other day in Outdoor Pursuits, we had to do the trust fall. Now as everyone in that class probably knows, I am pretty scared of doing this trust building stuff. It's not that I don't trust the people, because I do. I just get kind of self consious about myself but I realize I need to get over it because its a stupid thing to be self consious about. I did overcome my fear and did the Trust Fall. I am overall greatful I did this because it made me trust my classmates more, and also feel more comfortable about myself. Everyone in the class was a huge help, and I really appericate it. Thanks especially to Julie:) you really came through for me on that day!
On a technology note, I saw the commerical for the paper thin laptop. Wow is all i can say. How can all that information fit into such a small thing? Its amazing what kind of things they come up with for laptops, next thing you know its going to be the size of a paperclip.
Until next time bloggers, good night!

Microsoft Word Project
Today I finished my Word Project. I have to say it was actually harder than I thought it would be. Throughout high school, I was taught Microsoft 03. So learning a new Microsoft isn't as easy as I thought it would be. There are so many new tabs, and new icons that I have no clue where everything is. I am very glad actually that we had to do this project because it made me think and also made me learn the new Word. Although technology is changing, I don't always like to adapt to it. I guess the saying goes its hard to teach an old dog new tricks right? Have a good night!

First Blog
So this is my first blog in bloggerville, so bare with me if it's not that great. My name is Casey Runyan, and I am a sophomore at SRU. I am a physical/health education major, and I am currently 20 years old (today's actually my birthday!:)). I play tennis up at the Rock and I also work at a gym back home. I love hanging out with my friends and family, playing/watching sports, watching movies, and just having fun. I can always be found at the ARC working out, or doing some kind of activity because I love to be active. I have a younger brother who is following in my footsteps of tennis, and I am helping him out along the way. If you want to know anything else, post me a comment or something, I'll defiantly try to respond soon! Have a great day:)
